In today's economically complex world, actively seeking out and choosing "Made in USA" goods and services is extremely important, but equally important, if not more so, is being informed and mindful of how those products are actually made and delivered to consumers.
Some "Made in USA" products and services are created in ways which are great for American workers, respect the environment, and energize LOCAL economy, while others may not. Three words alone ("Made in USA") on a label, are not necessarily enough to provide American consumers with all the information they need to make the smartest purchasing choices.
The REALLY made IN USA ™ PROJECT is about raising and protecting the standards related to American-made goods and services, FAR BEYOND the current guidelines for "Made in USA". In addition to knowing where the component materials for American-made products come from, at REALLY made IN USA ™ we are also concerned about:
Business Ownership - WHO ACTUALLY OWNS and controls the company producing the goods or services you buy. Are they 100% American PEOPLE, or are they carefully crafted corporations which look and smell American, until you actually dig into the ownership tree (if you even can).
Labor Practices - Did AMERICAN WORKERS get the jobs to make the products and services you buy, or were those jobs lost to cheap foreign outsourced labour. And what about customer support? Are you going to be talking to fellow Americans when you need help, or do you have to brush up on your Filipino, Indian, or other common third-world english dialects for after-sale support?
Environmental Impact - How will the products and services you choose impact the environment, locally, AND GLOBALLY? Contrary to the (thankfully) shrinking population of misinformed and misguided climate catastrophe deniers, your choices DO make a difference and every choice is important!
Social Impact - Do the products and services you choose support a healthier community (locally, nationally, or even internationally)? Are you championing hard working Americans who build and contribute to DOMESTIC economy, and the overall social well-being of the US?
